Early Orthodontic Treatment

Start Early

The American Academy of Orthodontics (AAO) recommends children see an orthodontist by age 7 — and for good reason. Orthodontists do more than straighten teeth. Sure, an attractive smile may be a patient’s desired outcome, but the health of the bite (the way the top and bottom teeth fit together) and the prevention of crooked and overcrowded teeth are even more important.
Top Reasons To Schedule An Early Orthodontic Evaluation For Your Child

Reason #1

We will guide your child’s jaw growth, lower the risk of trauma to protruding front teeth, correct harmful oral habits, direct permanent teeth to appropriate spaces, and improve your child’s smile.

Reason #2

We will stop overcrowding from happening. Overcrowded teeth are very difficult to clean and can lead to tooth decay, gum disease, and even tooth loss. Further, an incorrect bite can lead to problems chewing and/or speaking.

Reason #3

We will monitor your child’s teeth as they grow. Even if your child’s teeth look straight, there could still be underlying problems that need monitoring. Our doctors will let you know if your child does not require treatment or if you should wait until they are older. We will only recommend early treatment if it is essential in providing an ideal result.
